Spring Break Science Camp — April 2009
Spring Break Science Camp at the Exploratorium
April 6-10, 13-17, 2009
The Exploratorium offers Spring Break Science Camps for Kids, two special week-long sessions in April that focuses on flying things. Expect a big day, every day, as kids explore the physics of flight. Campers will investigate airplanes, rockets, parachutes, and more, and build their own flying things. They’ll spend time around the Exploratorium and the Presidio, enjoying the exhibits before the museum opens, having snacks at the newly revamped lagoon, and eating lunch by the bay. Sessions are April 6-10, 2009 and April 13-17, 2009. Camp days are Monday through Friday, 9am-4pm. Extended care is available before camp (8:30-9am) and after camp (4-5pm). You must be a member to be eligible. For membership information, call (415) 561-0376 or e-mail member@exploratorium.edu
Openings will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis, so reserve a place today. The cost is $300 for the week. Extended care is offered for $10 an hour. This camp will be directed by the Exploratorium’s Ken Finn.
The Exploratorium’s Spring Break Science Camp strives to strike a balance between curiosity-driven free time and content-based activities that incorporate both structured and open-ended, self-directed learning.
