Utopia: A Living Documentary
With Academy Award Nominated Filmmaker Sam Green in Person
Friday, January 30 2009, 7:30pm
Exploratorium’s McBean Theater
Sam Green, director of the Academy Award-nominated documentary The Weather Underground, shares a multimedia ‘rough-cut’ of his new film The Universal Language. Through seemingly unrelated stories—including a history of Esperanto, a portrait of an exiled American radical, and a meditation on the world’s largest shopping mall—the film explores the battered state of the utopian impulse at the dawn of the 21st century. San Francisco musician Dave Cerf provides a live electronic score.
Tickets are $7 for Adults and $5 for Youth. Exploratorium Members are free. To reserve a ticket online, call (415) 561-0308 between 10am and 5pm, Monday–Friday.
